Port Haney Resource Centre CAP Site
A Community Access Program (CAP) site is a location offering free public Internet access in the interests of bridging the digital divide between those who have personal access to computers and Internet technology and the skills to use them, and those who do not. CAP sites are sometimes known as telecenters in other countries. The CAP in Canada is funded in part by Industry Canada, a ministry of the Government of Canada and partly by the social service agencies and other institutions that host the CAP sites. CAP Sites are organized into networks. The Port Haney Resource Centre CAP Site is part of the North Fraser FreeNet, which is coordinated by the CEED Society. The Pacific Community Network Association is a collective of CAP networks.
